Amanda and Peter's Bruce Trail Trek

Hike #39 Sixth Line, Georgetown to 8th Line , Acton We parked our car on 8th Line and took an Uber to Sixth Line to continue from where we left off on our last hike. The Uber ride cost about $18 not including tip. There are no washroom facilities on this leg of the trail; however, there is a motel on the trail route. From the stile on 6th Line the trail continues on road for about 2kms. After about a kilometre on 6th line the trail takes a right turn (east) onto Highway 7.  Once we turned onto Highway 7 we spotted makers indicating that the Bruce Trail was formally offset from the road. The trail runs parallel to Highway 7 through a canopy of sumac trees. This abandoned trail was far too overgrown. If you choose to explore this, be sure to wear long pants as there are quite a few thistles, burs and nettles. If you are looking for a place to crash for the night, the Cedar Springs Motel  looks like a nice spot. It's on Highway 7 and the Bruce trail runs right past it.  Ceda...

Hike #38 Fourth Line to Sixth Line, Georgetown  Today we parked our car on Fourth Line (roadside parking for four cars) and took an Uber to where we concluded our previous hike on Sixth Line. The Uber ride cost about $14 not including tip. It's important to note that it isn't always easy to get an Uber in these remote locations so you may want to have a backup plan. There are no washrooms in Limehouse Conservation area or at either roadside parking locations. Stile off Fourth Line We stumbled across a Geo cache and took a peek to see what was inside. Looks like some water got into this one damaging some of the contents. Geo Cache The section of the Trail between Fourth Line and Fifth Line is a tunnel of woods that runs between farm fields on either side.  Cornfield A short section on 5th Line takes you past the historic Gibraltar School House built in about 1845.
