Bruce Trail Hike #7: Short Hills to Rockway Conservation Area (5kms)

We started our 5km trek today at the Short Hills Parking Lot B on Roland Road. There is free parking and washroom facilities. We parked our other car at Rockway Community Centre. To get to the Bruce Trail, take Side Trail #3 from Roland Road to Swayze Falls Trail.

If you want to view Swayze Falls follow the wheelchair accessible trail #3 to the viewing platform. Once your are done with your detour, continue West then North on the Swayze Falls Trail/Bruce Trail to continue towards Rockway.

You will cross a bridge over the creek that leads to Swayze Falls. The creek is dry this late in the summer.

The stretch of the trail that is on Pelham road is quite busy. Fortunately there is a walking path.

There is some wild garlic growing at the trail head at Pelham Road. It can be used in pestos and sauces.

To get back to the Rockway Community Centre Parking lot take the 300m Rockway Side Trail.

Difficulty: Easy rolling hills with gentle escarpment climb
Trail Use: Hiking only/wheel chair access to Swayze Falls From Roland Rd.
